This journey takes you to the wondrous reefs in the deep southern part of the Red Sea, down to the Sudanese border. You will make world class dives on pristine reefs, virgin drop offs, beautiful coral gardens and extremely varied aquatic life.
Sataya
This horseshoe shaped reef lies northeast to Ras Bananas and is also referred to as Dolphin Reef. Typical for this reef are many shoals of fish and the wide diversity of small reef fish with breathtaking colors. Hammerheads are common here, as are dolphins that visit the large laguna on a regular basis.
Shaab Maksur
A small reef that promises beautiful dives on its north and south plateaus and that is surrounded by spectacular drop offs that extend down over 100 meters (33 ft). You can find 3 pillars covered in red soft corals and some small caves that house glassfish, grouper and moray. Reef fish, sharks and tuna are among the regular visitors.
Abu Galawa
This reef edged laguna is a good spot for manta rays and reef sharks. At a depth of 18 meters (60 ft) lies a small wreck that sank in the 1950's and that is very suitable for underwater photography. The wreck is now almost completely covered in colorful soft corals. This is an excellent reef for night dives. To see a Spanish dancer, you only need a very small touch of luck …
Shaab Claude
Shaab Claude offers a magnificent underwater landscape. The scenery holds many caves and swimthroughs that gave this site it's nickname "Labyrinth". The sunlight that seeps through all the small holes and fissures is a beautiful sight ! Napoleons, turtles and small white tip sharks have been spotted here.
St. John’s
The massive reef system of St. John’s is located furthest south and offers a range of excellent dives with exciting drop-offs such as Habil Ali, Habil Gafar, Gotta Kebir, Gotta Seghir,… The walls of these reefs are overgrown with big gorgonians, soft and hard coral and huge schoals of fish congregate around spectacular vertical underwater gardens. In the blue you can see with a little bit luck "big fish" like Hammerhead, Grey Sharks, Silver Tip and White Tip Reef Sharks and Barracudas, Tunas and Mackerels. Sometimes even you can see Mantas and dolphins.
